I'm a "Creative Solutioneur" — writer, systems-thinker, and copywriter — grounded in Communication Design study and 15+ years spent turning complicated, regulation-heavy systems into content people can actually use: federal policy, safety standards, brand voice, training programs, the internal documentation that quietly holds a team together. The method hasn't changed since design school: understand the person on the other end, and the constraints they're working within, before writing a single word.
What drives all of it is simple — I care about helping people become a better version of themselves, and I've found that clear, accessible guidance is one of the most generous things you can hand someone. Every SOP I write, every associate I mentor, every borrower who gets an answer that actually makes sense instead of just a technically correct one — that's the same act of care, over and over. At Nelnet, that meant translating dense Department of Education policy into guidance people could act on, sustaining top-20% performance and a quarterly Culture Champion recognition along the way.
I've also brought a modern edge to how I work — drafting with Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, then applying the editorial judgment good design always required, long before AI could draft anything. AI can draft fast; it still takes a person who understands the audience to know when something's almost right and needs a human hand to get it the rest of the way there.
